The Owls Project has only received one special project and that is a windmill that they received in the third year that the Owls Project was in operation.

This is a picture of the top of the windmill that stands about in the center of the Owls Project.

In the Kansas Wildlife & Parks magazine dated March/April 1998 there is an article on the OWLS project. It says that the project has been a popular Outdoor Wildlife Learning Site. In 1991, OWLS has been able to support more than 140 outdoor laboratories in schools across Kansas. Also when environmental education was critical to our youth, OWLS project gave students hands-on-approaches to learning about nature.
