REGENTS QUALIFIED ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENT Students applying to
any of the six Kansas Regents *
Achieve and ACT score of 21 or above, or * Complete the Qualified Admissions curriculum with at least a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, or *
Rank in the top-one-third of your high school's graduating class. The Kansas Board of Regents has approved the following
Wichita High School South courses for the Qualified Admissions curriculum. All
honors, gifted, and Advanced Placement courses are included in the Qualified
Admissions curriculum. English - 4 units required English I, II, III, English IV, or English composition, or English Composition- College Reading, or Applied Communication. Natural Science - 3 units required Students must take at least one unit of Physics or Chemistry . Science Survey, Earth Space Science, Biology, Astronomy, Geology , GloballEnvironmenta1, Botany, Applied Chemistry , Chemistry 1, Physics, Physiology, Zoology, Principles of Technology I and II. Math - 3 units required, Algebra
l or higher Algebra I, Informal Geometry,
Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Trigonometry, College Algebra Prep, AP
Calculus. Social Sciences - 3 units required 1 unit U.S. History; ½ unit U.S. Government; 1/2 unit selected from World History, World
Geography, or World Cultures, and 1 unit selected from Psychology , U.S History,
Sociology or Economics. Computer Technology -1 unit or by
passing a proficiency examination Computers and Technology, Computer
Applications in Business, Computer Presentations, Excel/Access, Programming
1,2,3,4, Word Processing, Internet/Web Page Design, Desktop Publishing,
Principles of Technology, Investigations in Technology, Computer Applications 1
and 2. Each course is a .5 credit. * Two years of the same Foreign Language is recommended but
not required. Students who will be attending one of the six Kansas
Regents universities need to be
