USING PARENT ASSISTANT
Parents using a Home
computer will log onto Parent
Assistant as follows:
Open Internet Explorer
(Please note: at the current time, Parent Assistant will NOT run on Internet
Explorer version 7) and type the following web address into your Address line
https://wpsparentsonline.usd259.net
Parents using a USD259
district computer will log onto
Parent Assistant as follows:
Open Internet Explorer
(Please note: at the current time, Parent Assistant will NOT run on Internet
Explorer version 7) and type the following web address into your Address line

Select Services > Student
Services > Parent Assistant

Please change your password immediately after logging on and keep your
new password confidential!
To change your password, go to the General Info Tab and choose Demographics. Select the Change Password Button at the bottom of the screen. Enter the new password twice then click CHANGE.

PARENT ASSISTANT DEMOGRAPHIC SCREEN



PARENT ASSISTANT EMERGENCY CONTACTS

Click on Details to see all the
emergency contact information.
Parents will click on “change” to
make any update requests.
The above
screen shots show the demographic and emergency contact information on the
student selected. Parents may request
changes for any of the fields that are “boxed”.
The word “Null” means empty or no data.
Using
Parent Assistant, parents may request a change to demographic and emergency
contact information in any field that looks like one of these:

Fields without the box around it cannot be
changed.
From Parent Assistant, a
parent may submit a request for an update to be made on the demographics
screen and/or the emergency contact screen.
The school staff makes a
determination to accept or not accept the requested change.

PLEASE NOTE:
PARENT ASSISTANT – STUDENT ATTENDANCE

In a block
schedule school, a two hour block class will be reflected as two absences.
PARENT ASSISTANT – PROGRAMS

The Programs screen will list any Programs that the student is a part of, if applicable.
PARENT ASSISTANT – STUDENT ASSIGNMENTS




Student
assignments may be sorted by Due date, course or by Course, due date.
Select the Assignment
date range by using the pull down calendars.
Clicking on
details will provide assignment information and teacher comments and “parent
tips” field if that information was entered by the teacher. See Example Below.

PARENT ASSISTANT – DIPLOMA SCREEN

The Diploma
Screen shows how many credits are required for graduation. It also shows how many credits the student
has earned toward that requirement and how many are still needed.
PARENT ASSISTANT – MARKS/GRADES

The Marks/Grades
screen shows the grades from all progress report and/or report card received
during the school year.

PARENT ASSISTANT – STUDENT SCHEDULE

The student’s class schedule may be viewed by clicking on
“Student Schedule.” Click on the
calendar to see the student’s schedule for a particular day. After choosing the
date, click on the display button. Times
display on this screen will not reflect a block schedule.
